Job Description
ROLE DESCRIPTION – BANQUET ATTENDANT
 
Role Objective:
The banquet attendant ensures optimum service to guests by facilitating our guests’ business needs. You take ownership in the set up and breakdown of board rooms and meeting rooms. You focus on the details from cleanliness to proper inventory while servicing our guests’ required needs that ensures a positive memorable experience with each and every guest encounter.
 
Reports To: Banquet Manager/F&B Supervisor
 
Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Follows standard procedures for banquet service, including set up and side duties.
  • Maintains both pleasant attitude and surroundings toward and for banquet guests.
  • Performs public relations work for the hotel with guest.
  • Assists in table and banquet room clean up.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.                                                           
  • Sets up banquet rooms completely, including all equipment within the specified time.
  • Checks all storerooms for packages and/or equipment for meetings and functions.
  • Maintains function rooms, banquet equipment, furniture, and storage areas.
  • Breaks down equipment and leaves room in proper order.
  • Reports needed repairs of equipment, furniture and fixtures to Banquet Manager.   
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.  
 
Required Education/Experience: 
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Knowledge of basic banquet service
  • Previous server experience
  • Neat, Clean person with strong desire to serve people
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to organize time effectively
  • Must have command of the English language
  • Must be experienced with current computer software programs
  • Able to stand for full shift (8 hours or more).
  • Good hearing and vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb and descend ladders to extreme heights.
  • Required to have good eye-hand-foot coordination.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a staff member to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  While performing the duties of this job, the staff member is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands and fingers, to handle and feel objects, tools controls and type; talk with and hear guests.  The staff member is occasionally required to sit.  The staff member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.  The specific vision abilities required are close vision.
