Geneva Chamber of Commerce Communications Coordinator
The Communications Coordinator serves as the strategic lead for all public relations, marketing, and communications efforts, ensuring consistent and professional representation of the organization across all platforms and events.
Public Relations & Media
- Manage the distribution of all press releases and official communications.
- Serve as primary liaison with media outlets and public relations partners.
- Develop and execute annual advertising plans in collaboration with the President.
- Oversee creation and placement of all advertising campaigns.
Publications & Marketing Materials
- Lead the development of festival brochures in partnership with Shaw Media, ensuring accurate representation of activities, sponsorships, and merchant participation.
- Swedish Days brochure
- Arts Fair brochure (including artist participants)
- Festival of the Vine brochure
- Christmas Walk brochure
Digital & Online Communications
- Maintain and update the organization’s website, including event announcements, sponsorship content, and membership resources.
- Manage online ticket sales for key events such as the House Tour.
- Oversee creation and distribution of email newsletters (Soundings) in collaboration with Elboat Design.
- Engage with members to collect and promote timely business updates.
Event Leadership & Coordination
- Garage Sale: Lead all communications, logistics, and participant coordination.
- Restaurant Week: Direct communications and logistics; serve as main contact for participating restaurants.
- Swedish Days:
- Coordinate Sweden Väst vendors and day-of logistics.
- Support 5K race planning in partnership with the race consultant.
- Organize Kids’ Day Parade and Settlers Breakfast (invitations and database management).
- Serve as liaison for Grand Parade Marshals and participants.
- Geneva Arts Fair: Work with Arts Fair Consultant to assist in coordinating advertising, artist descriptions and updating Zapp program for artist registration.
- Holiday House Tour: Collaborate with staff to identify homes and designers; manage ticket creation and home descriptions.
- Christmas Walk & Holiday Events: Coordinate Santa’s Workshop, Santa Lucia program, and additional seasonal activities in partnership with staff.
Community Engagement & Visitor Experience
- Serve as a resource to enhance the visitor experience in Geneva.
- Foster strong relationships with community members, merchants, and local organizations.
Chamber Responsibilities
- Actively participate in Chamber events, including After Hours gatherings and Ribbon Cuttings.
- Represent the Chamber at additional events during and outside of business hours as needed.
Qualifications:
College graduate with bachelor's degree
Excellent writing and vocabulary skills
Well organized
Dependable
Familiar with the City of Geneva recommended
