Fox Valley Hands of Hope is seeking a Grants Director. Our Grants Director tells the story of people helped by our no-cost grief services in ways that inspire funders to support our work. The Grants Director is responsible for the full continuum of grant management, from discovery through reporting.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent oral and written communicator, a detailed record keeper, full of curiosity and compassion, able to work independently while being a team player, and comfortable representing FVHH in the community. Prior grant writing experience is a plus but not required. In this role you will join a small but mighty staff team who care about each other and the people and communities we serve.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing and project-focused fundraising preferred
  • Prior leadership in the nonprofit setting

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Grants
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with foundations and granting organizations
  • Research and network for prospective grants
  • Write, submit, and manage grants, meeting all submission and reporting deadlines, providing timely acknowledgements, and keeping detailed records
  • Work collaboratively with staff colleagues to identify potential funding needs
  • Tell the FVHH story in a compelling and motivating manner
  • Assist in the development of annual and long-range revenue goals
  • Meet and exceed revenue targets
 
Board Relations
  • Meet as requested with the Development Committee of the Board
  • Work with the Executive Director, provide reports and information
  • Work collaboratively with Board members to strengthen Board members’ awareness of and connection to funding partners
Organizational Commitments
  • Work collaboratively within the Development team and staff of FVHH
  • Participate in staff meetings and activities as required
Reportability: The Director of Grants reports directly to the Executive Director and works collaboratively within the Development Team and FVHH staff.
Classification: The Director of Grants is a part-time non-exempt salaried employee.
